• We will accommodate appointments for prescription refills as soon as possible. Still, it is your responsibility as a patient to ensure that you have enough medication to last until your next appointment.
 • All patients on prescription medication require monitoring and have to be reassessed periodically. That means that you may need to regularly undergo symptom or drug interaction checking, and surveillance blood work.

• Please schedule an appointment if you need a requisition, even if it is a replacement form because you have lost a former one. Requests for investigation may require a repeat consultation or a physical examination.

Referrals

• Referrals are pooled through a Primary Care Network. Once the PCN contacts an appropriate specialist, the specialist will triage the referral and schedule the patient for an appointment.
 • Alberta specialists usually contact the patient directly with appointment details within one month for elective referrals.
 • If you have not received an estimated waiting time within one month for an elective referral, you can schedule an appointment with the doctor for re-evaluation.
