The Practice

Dr. John is a staff physician at Lloydminster Hospital, and a general practitioner in Lloydminster, Canada. He works as a full-time, full-service family physician.

Dr. John earned his degree in Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (with Distinction) in 2007 from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa.

After completing two years of internship and a year of community service in South Africa, he relocated to Canada in 2011.

Dr. John enjoys the privilege of commanding a large practice and coordinates the well-being of a diverse patient population. His self-proclaimed passion is to form lasting relationships with patients who are interested in actively participating with him in issues pertaining to their health.

He remains committed to lifelong learning and the implementation of up-to-date, evidence-based medicine by placing special emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention.


Preparing for your visit

Please arrive ten minutes ahead of your scheduled appointment time as you may be required to update demographic data or complete a patient questionnaire. 

If you need to cancel an appointment, please inform the clinic booking staff four hours prior to your scheduled appointment. 

Try to bring a list of your current medications with you. 

See the Health Information section on this website to help prepare for visits related to certain conditions (e.g. diabetes and hypertension). 

When you arrive, please register at reception. You must provide the receptionist with your valid health card. 

Consultations vary in complexity causing waiting times and duration of visits to vary on a case-by-case basis. I will strive to manage my time efficiently in order to maintain a high quality service to you.



When should you use an after-hours walk-in clinic?

I do not support the use of walk-in clinics because I do not receive any reports from them. If you need an appointment on the same day, please call the clinic. The clinic provides an Open Access Booking System specifically for this purpose. 

What is an Open Access Booking System?

When you need an appointment, you may be seen on the same day or the next day. If you have any questions, please direct them to reception. Certain problems are not appropriate for this kind of visit and you may be advised to go to the emergency room instead.

What are uninsured services?

Some services are not covered. Payment for them is your responsibility. These services take time and restrict the time available to give care to other patients. A list of such services can be obtained from reception. 

Can I get my prescription medications refilled by telephone or fax?

Currently, this service is not offered. Medications will be refilled during appointments only.
